These alabaster bookends feature Jesus turning the water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Able to keep heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift for couples soon to be married as a reminder for God's power and care.

The original artwork is the oil painting Wedding at Cana by contemporary artist Jason Jenicke.

The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish.

Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.

Text reads:

"And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, 'Everyone serves good wine first, and then, when people have drunk freely, and inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now.

-John 2:9-10"
