These alabaster bookends feature St. Gianna Molla with her first two children, Pierluigi and Mariolina. Able to keep heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift for everyone with a devotion to this selfless wife, mother and Christian.

While pregnant with her fourth child, St. Gianna was diagnosed with a fibroma in her uterus. A doctor herself, she knew the risks, and could have morally had an operation that would have saved her but probably result in the death of her child. Instead, she demanded that if it came to a choice, her family and the doctors save the baby. It did, but St. Gianna died with the name of Jesus on her lips, and the fruit of her loving and devoted sacrifice was a beautiful daughter.

The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish and will last for years to come.

Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.

Text reads:

"The secret of happiness is to live moment by moment and to thank God for all that He, in His goodness, sends to us day after day.

-St. Gianna"
