These alabaster bookends feature "The Song of Angels". Able to keep heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift for families and anyone with a devotion to Our Lady.
The original piece, "The Song of Angels" is a neoclassical oil painting by 19th century artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau. It shows Mary holding the sleeping infant Jesus while angels play a soothing lullaby.

The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish.

Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.

Text reads:

"Hail and blessed be the hour and the moment at which the Son of God was born of a most Pure Virgin, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires."

-Taken from St. Andrew's Advent Novena
