This beautiful outdoor shrine is a perfect inspirational piece for your garden, prayer path, and porch. Made of solid cedar wood, this unique gift comes in a cedar or walnut finish and three different sizes. The metal image plate is permanently attached to the shrine and there are a wide variety of images available to choose from. The Shrine holding the 4x6 image is 9" wide by 11" tall. The 6x9 is 10" wide by 15" tall, and the 8x12 image is 13.5" wide by 19.5" tall. The Shrines have a 2.5" to 3.5" overhang to help protect the image. Many of our customers use this to add a prayer area to their garden or create a small private grotto. This durable product makes an excellent gift for any occasion!
Each image plate is comprised of a semi-gloss vinyl print mounted on ACM, an outdoor signage material that consists of two thin aluminum sheets bonded together with a polyethylene core for added stability, strength, and durability. ACM is commonly used in the small business world for outdoor signage, and most of us unknowingly pass by ACM signs every day. By using ACM in devotional shrines and prayer walks, we consider this common sign material to be baptized with a renewed purpose and character.
These plates are UV-resistant, guaranteed for 3-5 years of perfect image fidelity with minimal fading. For devotees who live above the 40th parallel, or who are able to face their stations to the North or South, many more years of perfect image fidelity are possible! Nonetheless, all things in this world will fade with time, and even the ideal conditions of minimal sunlight will eventually result in fading, even if this is decades down the road.
The image you see here is of the original "Mary, Undoer of Knots," a once obscure, 300 year-old painting that has become the fastest growing Marian devotion in the world today. Known in her German homeland as "Maria Knotenlöserin," this beautiful sacred image by Catholic master painter Johann Schmidtner was inspired by a real German family's story of marital disunity, struggle, intercession, and powerful reconciliation. Discovered and then expanded into a Marian devotion in the 1980's by then-Father Jorge Mario Bergoglio, "Mary, Undoer of Knots" is a favorite devotion of Pope Francis himself, and continues to spread throughout the world due to his influence.
Our image of the original "Mary, Undoer of Knots" has undergone professional digital restoration to remove the effects of 300 years of aging and candle-smoke.
