cloister-collection-official.jpgThis icon plaque, the Crucifixion with Prophets, comes from the Cloister Collection, Catholic to the Max's exclusive line of wood slab icons.

The image shows Our Lord being crucified with Mary, Mary Magdalene and John the Baptist nearby. The sides show 10 of the prophets, likely those who spoke regarding the crucifixion. Underneath is a pieta scene with many of Christ's disciples gathered around, weeping.

This is a page from an illuminated manuscript, a missal, commissioned by Pope Innocent VIII. It was painted by Giuliano Amadei in the 15th century.
