This reproduction of Virginie Demont-Breton's "Star of the Sea" shows Mary, and the child Jesus walking out on the raging waters to save drowning fishermen.

Virginie Demont-Breton (1859-1935) comes from a family of French painters and began her career in her late teens. In her early career she was known for her historical works, then after moving to the seaside with her husband, Adrien Demont (also a painter), she began painting fishermen and their family life. 

This image comes as a fine art print with a white border.
