Note: Dimensions below apply to shipping information. Extra product info can be found in the description.
This rustic wood plaque features John the Baptist. It was painted around 1450 in Crete using egg tempera paint on cedar wood. The scroll he is holding is written in Greek and the inscription reads, "You see, O Word of God, what suffer those who criticize abominable sins: for Herod - lo! - not bearing the reproach, cut off my head, O Saviour, [with a sword]".
Our Rustic Wood Plaques are designed, printed and stained to give a rustic, weathered look. They are constructed from a wood composite in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. All sizes are printed on a single board, however larger sizes are printed to look like slats.
