This reproduction of the "Guardian Angel" by Melchior Paul von Deschwanden shows a young child unconscious on the seashore, whether taking a nap or washing up on the shore is uncertain. Above the child is his guardian angel, looking upon him and praying. 

The artist, Melchior Paul von Deschwanden is a prolific Swiss painter from the 1800's. He remained a bachelor and devoted his life to painting religious art, completing an impressive volume of over 2000 works during his lifetime. He is known for his smooth, clean, and easily understandable style. 

This image comes as a high-quality art print with a white border.
