This print of "Christ's Farewell to Mary" shows the tender, and sorrowful moment when Christ had to leave His mother to begin his public ministry. He is kissing her hand while she strokes His hair on the steps outside their home in Nazareth.

This piece was painted by Piotr Stachiewicz (1858-1938), a Polish painter known for his portraits, historical scenes, magazine illustrations, and religious works.

This image comes as a fine art print with a white border.

    Every mother should have this picture to meditate not only on the love between Jesus and His Holy Mather, but of the deep sorrow and pain they both share.

    love the coloring, very sweet. I read from the mystics that Mary carried the cross of knowing his ministry and what would happen. The emotion is so well captured!

    Very emotional rendition of Jesus leaving to start his ministry. Wonder if she knew what was going to happen to him.
